Endodontics

Endodontics

Endodontics is a root canal therapy that is needed after caries progresses towards the central pulp of the tooth. Treatment of dental inflammation involves removal of the dental nerve and thorough cleaning of the complete root canal. After disinfecting the root canal, the tooth gets filled and sealed to prevent further bacteria penetration into the root.

Today’s dental medicine allows teeth to be cured after one to two visits, and long-lasting therapies that had root irrigation are no longer needed. Our clinic also uses engine-driven instruments, which has proven to be a superior and faster method.

However, sometimes even the best technology cannot allow successful endodontic treatment because of thin, impenetrable root canals; inaccessible canals, or just because of badly performed previous interventions. Nevertheless, most such cases can be resolved by apicoectomy (surgical removal of the tooth’s root tip).
